Calculation

Formula and meaning

The calculator determines vehicle energy for the trip and accounts for charging losses through the efficiency when estimating grid energy.

E₍trip₎ = distance · consumption / 100 · E₍grid₎ = E₍trip₎ / η · Cost = E₍grid₎ · price

Example and limits

Context

For 200 km, 18 kWh/100 km, €0.35/kWh, and 90% efficiency, charging costs are about €14.00.

Electricity price and efficiency are treated as constant. Standing charges, time-of-use tariffs, public-session fees, and different charging locations are excluded.
